COLUMBIA, Md. - March 9, 2021 - PRLog -- The coronavirus pandemic has put a financial strain on new college students, and Black students have been significantly impacted. MissionKey Communications, LLC has partnered with The Ezer Agency and Girls for A Change (GFAC) to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a Black female who will start college in the coming academic year.

"This is such a challenging time and we want to be a resource to help young Black girls secure the financial support they need for college," says Samantha McCoy, founder & CEO of MissionKey Communications, LLC.  When she studied communications at Elon University, she was able to obtain her undergraduate degree without incurring student loan debt. Scholarships funded a large part of her college education.

"Scholarships are so valuable because they provide students with money they can use toward their education without the stress of figuring out how to pay it back," Samantha explains, "We are privileged to partner with other Black women business owners to pay it forward in this way."

MissionKey Communications, LLC, Candice Nicole Public Relations, and author Mia Brabham will join The Ezer Agency in investing a total of $10,000 in scholarship funds through The Girls For A Change Nonprofit organization.

The scholarship is for Black girls currently enrolled in the GFAC Girl Ambassador Program, a workforce development program for high school girls designed to prepare them for the future of work. This scholarship will help provide the financial means for the girls to pursue higher education and their dreams.

MissionKey Communications, LLC is offering the "Confident Creative" scholarship. Here are the criteria:
  • Must be an incoming college freshman attending school full-time or received early full-time acceptance for the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • Must be a full-time student majoring in Public Relations, Strategic Communications, or Entrepreneurship
  • Must self-identify as Black or African American

The submission period runs through April 30, 2021. Official winners will be announced in June for the Fall 2021 semester.
