The Womens Freedom Song Contest celebrates Int'l. Womens Day!

TORONTO - March 8, 2021 - PRLog -- The third year of the Womens Freedom Song Contest has now ended and we're announcing the winners to coincide with International Womens Day, March 8th!

Entries came from around the world to vie for the top "female anthem", "music video" and "poem/lyric" categories. It was open to male and female entrants.

Issues such as creating your own new, empowering reality, being confident, expressing your feelings, not bowing down to outdated rules and following your lust for adventure were just some of the topics covered. Bonnie Boss won for a humorous poem about why women hate being called "Mam" in the poem entitled "M Word."

There were some highly skilled judges this year, with some golden ears such as Sandy Ramos (#1 dance hit by Rhett Akins and songs recorded by the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Anne Murray, Kenny Rogers), Brent Backhus (recording engineer for The Whispers, John Lee Hooker, Solomon Burke, Sara Knight (Talent Mgmt. & Booking Agency), Kim Krizan (Academy Award Nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay and a Writers Guild Award), Ruth McCartney - a highly skilled new media entrepreneur and Diana Williamson (2 x #3 Billboard Hot Club Chart Writer, Author and VP of Themusiclibrary.org)
