By: Human Growth Foundation

March 7, 2021 - PRLog -- The Human Growth Foundation (HGF) announced today that it will host an HGF Endocrine Education Live Webinar on "Cilia: What They Can Teach Us About Endocrine Function" March 15, 20201, from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm EST.

Pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Angela Verardo will present on the topic and host a live Q & A following immediately after the presentation.

Ciliopathy syndromes are genetically and phenotypically diverse diseases caused by dysfunction of the primary cilium. Several known ciliopathies like Alstrom Syndrome and Bardet Bidel have established endocrine dysfunction. Other endocrine conditions are suspected to be ciliopathies.

This webinar will review these conditions in an endocrine framework. Attendees will learn how to:
  • appreciate the pathophysiology of abnormal ciliary function,
  • recognize patterns that may lead to the consideration of a ciliopathy, and
  • identify the endocrinopathies associated with ciliopathies.

Attendees must register online at hgfound.org/events, to receive an access link to the live webinar.
