UK Manufacturer Welcomes Chancellor's Support For UK Property MarketExtension of stamp duty holiday and help for buyers announced in UK Budget yesterday.
By: Mid West Displays A stamp duty holiday added to the number of house sales, and this has now been extended. The tax break was due to end on 31 March, but it will now end on 30 June. After this date, the starting rate of stamp duty will be £250,000 until the end of September. Stamp duty will then return to the usual threshold, and will be paid on property sold for more than £125,000. A spokesperson for the Shropshire-based display specialist said "The policies announced in the Budget were good news for buyers and sellers, but also for those whose jobs depend on a buoyant property market - estate agents, mortgage advisors, conveyancers and companies like us who design, make and install displays in estate agents' branches." The company believes the strong level of sales will encourage property professionals to invest in their businesses. Tax changes also incentivised investment ahead of proposed increases in Corporation Tax "As a UK manufacturer who is committed to UK jobs and investment, our clients appreciate that their investment in us is a further step to rebooting UKPLC."
