DUBAI, UAE - Feb. 20, 2021 - PRLog -- In a virtual ceremony, 'e7 Daughters of the Emirates' honoured its fifth graduating class of its year-long pioneering leadership programme.

The 33 young women were recognized for successfully completing the rigorous programme, which includes the successful completion of various workshops and the development of team-based projects that positively impact the UAE community.

Adela Acevedo Sarna, chairperson of 'e7 Daughters of the Emirates' honoured the women for their exceptional contribution in light of the unique challenge of the pandemic over the last year, as well as highlighted their important role in the emirates.

"Women in the UAE are instrumental towards shaping the future economy and society. Their contributions and leadership are central to social and economic development and the e7 programme aims to convene annually to develop the future generation of women leaders in the UAE," said Adela Acevedo Sarna. "At e7 we are committed to creating a positive impact across communities and are fully aligned with the UAE leadership's vision and strategic objectives. Our long-term vision is to additionally grow e7 to a sisterhood of over 3,000 women who mentor, support and learn from each other."

Making this event truly memorable and surrounded by the large community of contributors to the e7 programme, guest speakers H.E. Dr. Eng. Suaad Sultan Al Shamsi, Aviation Consultant and the first female Emirati to become an aircraft engineer in the UAE and Rasha Aldanhani, Emirati entrepreneur and the founder of the famous PappaRoti Café, gave insight into their success and how they became role models as female leaders in their field.

Supported by over countless dedicated mentors and over 300 community contributors, over 160 young women have graduated the programme since its launch in 2015.

During the programme participants work in teams to design, fund and execute community projects, as well as gain connections to a network of e7 alumni, community leaders and affiliates. Through training, the young women also enhance their leadership skills.

The social impact projects are at the core of the programme and are developed to benefit the community. They each must be grounded in the pillars of POAG which cover culture and heritage; education and career; enhancing opportunities for the less fortunate; environment and health; family and women; and leadership.

This year's projects focused on holistic learning experiences, helping businesses reduce their environmental impact and educating children on sustainability, increasing knowledge about Emirati heritage amongst the youth, enhancing the educational system by training kids in essential life skills, supporting people of determination by upskilling them, and raising awareness on the importance of gratitude.
