Follow on Google News | Mid-America Nursing & Allied-Health Institute at the Forefront of COVID Safety MeasuresBy: MANAHI Since the start of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, MANAHI has remained at the forefront of coronavirus safety measures to the point that not a single infection has been reported at their school to date, according to MANAHI President & Founder, Mrs. Susan N. Omare. "We're training the next generation of front-line healthcare providers, and for us social distancing is not a reality," she said. "So we have to take every precaution if we're going to be eventually working with patients. I'm certified in infection control and prevention…that makes me more OCD, so I know how to keep my school safe." A Nigerian immigrant, Mrs. Omare came to the United States almost 25 years ago and is making a difference in the community, serving Kansas and the neighboring State of Missouri. Since MANAHI opened, it has attracted students from across the country due to their stellar reputation for producing highly-qualified healthcare professionals. During the early days of the pandemic, MANAHI had to close for one month to comply with local and state requirements; "We were notably the only school in the area that was still functioning and still going to clinical sites with our students," she said. "We were still able to function effectively while many other schools were closing and graduated over 100 much-needed nurses' aides into the community." Located at 10000 West 75th Street, Suite 241, MANAHI has been a shining example of how to run a school during a pandemic. All students must fill out a health questionnaire when they enter the building and submit to a digital temperature- MANAHI provides COVID-19 testing on-site for students, faculty, and their families, and has also been approved to provide vaccine access to students when they become available. "Being able to function effectively during COVID and continuing to enrich the communities and employers with quality healthcare professionals is something that I'm really proud of," Mrs. Omare said.
