Virtual Girl Chat with Claudia Romo Edelman
Claudia Romo Edelman has dedicated her life to humanitarian work, advocating for equity, representation, and inclusion. She is the former Chief of Advocacy of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and led public relations campaigns for the World Economic Forum, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
Edelman says, "The world is becoming more feminine and with a bigger heart. It's time for women, and young girls particularly, to challenge preconceived notions of what and how we should be. For this, we need to be more intentional about supporting each other, becoming a network of support, and being united. There's nothing we can't do if we stand for each other. That's why I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to connect with this amazing group of girls and women to share my work on advocacy and global causes."
She is an accomplished public speaker and spokesperson for social issues like early childhood development, gender equality, and diversity, inclusion, and equity. She works frequently with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG).
"The focus of Unreasonable Kids College is to familiarize the Kids with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) and encourage them to invent creative solutions for achieving those goals. We are honored to have the opportunity to hear from Mrs. Edelman, who has actively worked with the UN SDG, and we are excited for the Kids to learn about the solutions she created," says Ateba Whitaker, founder and CEO of Unreasonable Kids College. "The objective is to create Kid-leaders who understand that access is not limited to one class, race, gender, or political party. The hope is to inspire Kid-leaders to become unreasonable thinkers, with a clear vision and dream that understands our past and is fully prepared to change it."
Unreasonable Kids College, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a social, educational enterprise, training the next generation of kid-superheroes. The goal is to teach kids how to become unreasonable thinkers that see opportunities where adults see problems and create opportunities for kids to tackle the goals set by the UN SDG. Unreasonable Kids College creates a safe, peer to peer, coach-led environment to facilitate and inspire world changers to release their fight for good.
