How India is Grounding the 'AI for All' Grade

Pushing the bars for inclusive growth of AI expertise in India

SAKET, India - Feb. 15, 2021 - PRLog -- The AI rise with 'RAISE' appraised by governments is promulgating the future ahead for the technology professionals of India today. If we take a closer look at the investment scheme to propagate the AI ambition of India, the expenditure for the intelligent system will rise up to a whopping 30.8 percent. The budget for AI-spending is estimated to be 880.5 million USD by the end of the year 2023. Contributing to the core national mission to make India AI-first, the Indian Government has approved a lump sum of INR 3,6000 crore on cyber-physical system technologies: Artificial Intelligence (AI),  and Predictive Analytics.

Rekha M Menon, Senior Managing Director and Chairman, Accenture India when interviewed by Business Insider, commented that "The economic boost will be driven by innovative AI technologies that enable people to make more efficient use of their time and do what humans do best – create, imagine and innovate new things. What's needed is a clear, long-term vision, and a multi-stakeholder action plan that balances growth with the ethical questions posed by AI."

The making of a robust AI system in India is well equipped with various schemes to embed the AI  presence for Iṇdia's industrial growth. Back in 2019, it was reported by Mint that - Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, stated that the government is planning to launch a national program on AI where the initiative will be to start an AI portal to fill in the gap. India's competitor at AI-innovation - China is trying to build an AI-ecosystem to place itself at the top of the innovation pyramid for AI by the year 2030. Today India ranks to be the third in core publications with AI and yet falls short of 32,421 documents to match up with China. The use of automation was further accelerated by the pandemic and AI-adoption is not limited to businesses anymore.  Economists have turned their focus to building up AI capabilities that augment growth at diverse sections of the industry

Initially, India had to go through a rough patch to elevate the tech platform to stay at par with the curreṇt industry standards. In the developing economy of India which harbors millions of tech talents, it requires the right drive to propel AI-development. Therefore, IITs in collaboration with Wiley NXT is offering a bucket of courses in AI-ML applications as well as courses for sector focus AI programs for about 4-6 months. The programs are carefully designed for skill-building and designed for working professionals to scale-up their careers.
