After working as a social worker for several years, Thompson became a full-time entrepreneur in 2013, when she eventually opened her own event planning and party rental business. She was able to scale the business quickly and profitably using Facebook advertising.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, putting the entire event-planning industry in a tailspin.

Thompson responded by pivoting to focus on the marketing aspect of her business. She joined a high-level mastermind with other agency owners and marketers, learning from the best in the industry.
