D&SNGRR Announces Fares, Classes and Schedule for Cascade Canyon Excursions from Feb. Through April

Historic 140-Year-Old Railroad in Southwestern Colorado to Offer Expanded Passenger Service Options and Schedule to Travelers

DURANGO, Colo. - Feb. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, which offers year-round rail experiences and special events to passengers of all ages in the scenic wilderness of Colorado's San Juan National Forest, today announced the fares, classes of service, and operating schedule for its Cascade Canyon winter train excursions from early February through the end of April.

In February, the D&SNGRR will operate one round trip per day to Cascade Canyon on select Fridays and every Saturday and Sunday. To accommodate spring break travelers, the railroad increases excursion frequency beginning Fri., March 5, with trips on most days in March and April. All excursions depart from and return to the railroad's iconic depot in historic downtown Durango. In addition, passengers will once again be able to choose from different classes of service and passenger coaches, including the railroad's highly-popular, first-class Cinco Animas, Alamosa, Prospector, Yankee Girl, and glass-enclosed Knight Sky cars. Guests can also ride in the deluxe San Juan coach featuring sparse seating and added interior room.

The D&SNGRR's dates of operation are February 6-7, 12-15, 20-21, and 27-28; March 5-20, 22-27, and 29-31; and April 1-3, 9-10, 16-17, 19-24, and 26-30. All excursions depart at 9:30 a.m. and return at 2:30 p.m. MST, and have limited passenger capacity.

Normal standard-class fares are $69.00 per person for adults and $42.00 per person for children under the age of 12. First-class fares are $119.00 per person for adults, and $79.00 per person for children. Knight Sky ticket prices are $119.00 per person for both adults and children. Deluxe coach fares are $94.00 per person for adults. All fares are subject to an eight-percent historical preservation fee.

During all of March, and from April 1-3, peak fares are in effect. Peak standard-class fares are $74.00 per person for adults and $47.00 per person for children. Peak first-class fares are $124.00 per person for adults, and $84.00 per person for children. San Juan peak fares are $99.00 per person. Peak Knight Sky ticket prices are $124.00 per person. All fares are subject to an eight-percent historical preservation fee.
