St. Augustine Humane Society will host Joey Romer of Smart Paws Obedience Training for a seminar on Saturday, March 6 from 2 pm until 4 pm at 1665 Old Moultrie Road in St. Augustine. The event is offered free of charge.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Feb. 5, 2021 - PRLog -- St. Augustine Humane Society will host Joey Romer of Smart Paws Obedience Training for a seminar on Saturday, March 6 from 2 pm until 4 pm at 1665 Old Moultrie Road in St. Augustine. The event is offered free of charge. Topics and activities will include training and behavior issues, and hands-on training demos with pet owners and their dogs. Romer is a retired St. Johns County Sheriff's Deputy with 18 years of service and as a K9 Sergeant. Prior to his retirement, he was the head of training for the department's K9 unit and specialized in bomb, weapon and drug detection, human tracking, search and rescue, criminal apprehension, and handler protection, among others. Romer has trained and certified Police K9 units with both American K9 Detection Services and Southern Coast K9. He has worked with K9's in multiple countries such as Germany, Panama, and Indonesia.

Romer and Smart Paws offer a wide range of training opportunities at all levels at his training facility or at pet owners' home including puppy and small dog obedience training, adult and large dog obedience training, intermediate obedience training, private advanced obedience training, and beach walk group training, to name a few. About St. Augustine Humane Society:

The Humane Society's spay, neuter and surgery clinic is open every Tuesday from 8:00 am to 4 pm. The wellness clinic is open every Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm. Pet owners must pre-register for spay and neuter surgery. The Humane Society's resource center includes a wellness and preventative care clinic, low-cost spay and neuter clinic, grooming facility, dog training, and a pet food pantry. These and other services enable local pets to live happily and healthfully in their homes for life. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am until 4 pm. Open Saturday by appointment.
