Wild Bird Centers of America Celebrates "National Bird Feeding Month"

GLEN ECHO, Md. - Jan. 25, 2021 - PRLog -- Glen Echo, MD: February is National Bird Feeding month, a designation that began in 1989, when the Wild Bird Centers of America, Inc. (WBCA) established the National Bird Feeding Society, the official host of the month. A period of harsh weather and minimal food supply, February is a great time to spotlight the need to feed your backyard birds.

While roughly half of North American birds head south for winter, many birds stay determinedly in their year-round territories. Small songbirds eat more food in the winter than in the summer, making bird feeders a valuable resource this time of year.
