-- Black Diamond client, Mickey Barber, inked a new contract with the West Texas Buccaneers in El Paso, TX. The Buccaneers are part of the American Arena League (AAL) and will begin their season in March, Covid permitting. Barber has traveled all the way from Minneapolis, MN to start his dream of playing football professionally.
Mickey Barber started his football career by playing in college for the Central Lakes College Raiders. As his college career came to an end, he trained even harder to become a better player while waiting for the call from the West Texas Buccaneers.
"I am very excited to play for the West Texas Buccaneers in addition to meeting my new team," said Barber. "A few things that have helped keep me going over the years are a great attitude, leadership, understanding and perseverance. I am looking forward to helping the Buccaneers become the best team possible!"
Despite the struggles of Covid-19, the Buccaneers have managed to continue tryouts and recruit many talented players. Barber has already begun to work with his teammates and will put it all out on the field when their first game comes in March.
