Street-photography inspired wedding photographer Liam Shaw reaches final stages of prestigious international street photography competition

The only photographer to have two images reach the final stage, Shaw's wedding work is renowned for drawing upon techniques more commonly associated with street photography than wedding photography and was delighted to find that the prestigious panel of judges agreed.
Working alongside his sister and long-time creative collaborator Dominique, the innovative photography duo work to a simple mantra at weddings: look to create great photographs, not just great wedding photographs.
"We're not just looking to create photographs that are interesting to the couple, we want our photographs to stand on their own artistic merit and be interesting to anyone, not just the people who were actually at the wedding" says Shaw. "Though weddings are our primary focus and street photography is really just a hobby and training exercise we don't really distinguish between the two. We don't look to photograph the big events of the wedding as such - that's already taken care of just by the nature of all of the photographs being captured in that setting, instead we just focus on people, personalities and making connections - it's exactly the same mentality that we adopt when taking street photographs."
