Students of the arts will showcase their creative talents, entertaining attendees with inspiring artistic and musical performances that capture the true essence of Black culture. Featured performers will include Selah Nicollette Armstrong, The Bronx Charter School, Brooklyn United Music and Arts Program, Denzel Washington School of the Arts, and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. The event will also include a silent auction, celebrity appearances, and a special salute to Black History Month. Cheryl Wills, an award-winning journalist, anchor of Spectrum News' "NY1 Live At Ten," and host of the weekly public affairs talk show "In Focus with Cheryl Wills," will serve as the program host.
"The Society Incorporated Renaissance Chapter is dedicated to encouraging youth in the arts and providing forums for self-expression that capture the imagination and spirit of our entire community," said Barbara L. Edwards, Chapter President. "We look forward to sharing the wellspring of talent and creativity personified by our young artists."
Added Dawna Michelle Fields, Colgate's Director of Community Outreach and Operations, Bright Smiles, Bright Futures: "A wise man once said that art is too important not to share. Colgate-Palmolive Company is delighted to partner with The Society Incorporated to celebrate the creativity of our youth, their commitment to excellence, and the joy with which they share their talents."
