ATLANTA - Jan. 9, 2021 - PRLog -- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Atlanta Alumnae Chapter invites the public to join a virtual zoom webinar to bring awareness of and raise funding for the work of Mercy Ships on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at noon. The purpose of the webinar is to bring awareness to the crucial services the health organization provides for patients largely from the continent of Africa.

With the theme "Healing Our People Everywhere", Mercy Ships is the largest nongovernmental hospital ship in the world. It provides access to state-of-the-art medical care to patients as well as provides training and empowering local doctors in Africa.

According to Mercy Ships materials it brings hope and healing to the forgotten poor by mobilizing people and resources worldwide and serving all people without regard to race, gender and religion. The Hospital Ship has surgeons, nurses and professionals and its work has been endorsed over the years by leaders around the world.

The program highlights for the virtual meeting on Saturday include presentations and testimonials by Mercy Ship speakers Caroline and Beth Kirchner and Dr. Gary Parker. Delta Sigma Theta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter participants include International Awareness Committee Chair Dr. Erness Hill, Health Committee Chair Dr. Elaine Archie Booker, Chaplain Merchuria Williams, and Chapter President Andrea L. Morgan.
