Follow on Google News | Bringing Human Rights to Florida through EducationBy: United for Human Rights Center United for Human Rights Florida chapter opened its Human Rights Center in downtown Clearwater in July 2015. To date, UHR florida has provided over 50 thousand human rights booklets, free of charge, to teachers, non-profit organizations and human rights advocates across Florida. According to their website, "UHR's purpose is to provide human rights educational resources and activities that inform, assist and unite individuals, educators, organizations and governmental bodies in the dissemination and adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at every level of society."1 "We work with people of all ages to bring human rights education to their communities." Hundreds of organizations have worked with the United for Human Rights Florida chapter since 2015. They also hold community events and seminars all with the purpose of raising awareness on human rights. UHR has held events at colleges such as the Florida State University, Florida International University and the University of Tampa, and has worked with schools across Broward, Hillsborough, Pasco, Orange and Miami-Dade Counties.
