Toastmasters District 56, Area M-30 Clubs

Area Director Hosts Council Meetings; Thanks Officers For Service

RICHMOND, Texas - Dec. 26, 2020 - PRLog -- District 56, Division M, Area 30 of Toastmasters International held Area Council Meetings on November 30 and December 15, 2020 virtually at 6:30p.m.

The purposes of the Area Council Meetings are to bring club officers together for support, gain insight, strategize, receive national; district business updates and training in order to help clubs operate effectively.

The meeting was called to order by the Area Director Monique Lampkin. Division M Director Sharla Ozen; a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) was present, inspired officers to be the best and take advantage of the many opportunities provided by Toastmasters. Both leaders thanked the officers for their commitment to their clubs and a job well done as they give their time, talents and resources to serve others as leaders.

Monique Lampkin gave accolades for past and recent accomplishments which included Officer Training Requirements achieved for all five clubs; efforts for hosting "Open House" as a club growth initiative. Recognition was given to clubs who submitted a "Club Success Plan" (Missouri City and Sugar Land). Adulations were given to the clubs for working towards achieving various goals for award levels." Appreciation was given to all clubs adopting and working on Educational Goals in Pathways; the official learning curriculum used in Toastmasters. CVR Energy, a private corporate club, celebrated its "1 Year Anniversary" December 8th as a newly chartered club in 2019.

Lampkin reminded clubs to practice all safety protocols including social distance due to the COVID 19-Pandemic.The health and safety of our members is the number one priority. Currently all area M-30 clubs meet in a Virtual Online Environment.

Agenda items included strategic planning for 2021; preparation and club participant selections for Area & Division M Speech Contests during the months January and February. The Area M Club contests are scheduled March 6 and the Division Club Contest is April 10, 2021; both events will be open for the public to attend. The speech categories will be Humorous and International.

All clubs have been challenged to achieve "1 of the 3" award goals statuses consistently of Distinguished, Select Distinguished or Presidents Distinguished. Lampkin says, "despite the perilous times in the world; our members and clubs need us and we should continue to give our best service." She also challenged every club to attract, recruit and train 21 or more new members by July 1, 2021.

Club Officers in attendance were Brooke Folson (CVR Energy), Jeffery Pope (Liberated), Becky Fields (Missouri City), Charles Inyang (Stafford Talking Titans) and Melba Lee (Sugar Land).
