BUENA PARK, Calif.
- Dec. 11, 2020
-- Black Diamond client, Daveon Howard, recently achieved a dream he has been working for his whole life, playing football in a professional football league. After playing football at Livingstone College, Howard did not waste any time trying to make his dream a reality. He moved back to his hometown of Buena Park, to continue his training and achieve physical goals for himself while waiting for his number to be called.
Howard worked hard to maintain a positive mindset, though it had become harder than ever to achieve his goals with Covid-19 ravaging 2020. Despite the gyms closing down, personal trainers becoming unavailable and harder to find, Howard made every effort to get noticed by a professional football league. This young man is usually quiet off-the-field, but his actions speak for themselves when he sets foot on the grid-iron. At a staggering 6'4", this wide receiver proves to be a huge target. Howard and his agent continued their pursuit of a professional contract, and the call from the Orlando Predators was exactly what they needed.
"I am thankful to be able to play the sport I love, especially in these times with all the problems 2020 has brought," said Howard. "I want to thank my agency, Black Diamond Sports Management, my family and everyone else who helped me get here. This marathon continues and I still have some work to do, but it helps knowing I have a great support system behind me."
Howard will continue to train until it is time to make his trip to Florida. He will be prepared for his 2021 season and is eager to lead his team to victory in April. At a time when many athletes are looking for the same opportunity, Daveon reminds himself of just how fortunate he is to put his cleats on and continue to play the game he loves.
