Ways to Give Back This Holiday Season

Help your neighbors. That's right, home is where the heart is. So why not help the people closest to you! Something as easy as a wellness phone call or text to a neighbor that is elderly or lives alone. You can ask if they need anything (groceries, prescriptions, etc.) or just to see how they are feeling. It's amazing how just knowing that people in your community are caring and thinking about you can make all the difference.
Send thoughtful notes and cards to first responders and helpers in your local community. This is a great one for kids! Put their artistic skills to work and make cards for nurses at the local hospital. Or send a thank you paper note chain to the educators at your school. You can have everyone right their own positive note or thank you on a piece of paper. Then interlock all the notes into a chain. Making words of thanks into a fun decoration!
You may not be able to donate your time, but you can surely find something you don't use anymore to donate. Food, clothes, hard to find supplies like toilet paper and sanitizer, and computers or school supplies are all things that can be donated. Looking to do more? There is a decrease in blood donations since the pandemic. A donation of your blood could save a life. Here's a list of resources so you can donate:
