The Private Eye just wrapped on production and has started the editing process. The general idea of the movie is a mystery. The movie stars actors Matt Rife, Clare Grant, Elliot, Denzel Whitaker, Eric Roberts and more. The movie plans to complete post-production in the spring quarter of 2021.
Question: What was the reason you choose to take on and produce The Private Eye?
Answer: I chose to take on The Private Eye because of the story. It's truly mind-bending. Moreover, I also helped write it. But most importantly, I just wanted to help my friend Jack Cook make his dream into reality. This project has been about 8 years in the making for him.
Question: What's the main challenge you face everyday as a filmmaker?
Answer: The main challenge I have every day as a filmmaker is finding people to believe in me. Not to boost my confidence booster, but for opportunities and investors for the films I'm involved in. We have stories for days, all we need is a bigger budget.
Question: Did you learn anything new about making a movie on the set of The Private Eye?
Answer: On The Private Eye I learned to just trust the process. What can go wrong will go wrong, but it's up to you and your team to solve the issues while maintaining your composure. 12(the police) pulled up randomly to our set and attempted to shut us down. Lucky for us we had the budget to afford permits.
Question: What advice would you give to Young film makers?
Answer: Limit how much you talk about wanting to do something and just do it. I'll share ideas with people I trust in order to get feedback, but I'm not a talker, I'm a walker by all means necessary. Find your tribe of like-minded individuals with the same goals and get it done. Don't do business make friends.
