NEW YORK - Nov. 15, 2020 - PRLog -- Cutting-edge article, "I Experienced Systemic Racism at One of America's Most Prestigious Magazines", written by contributing writer and Founder of Human Intonation, Verneda Adele White, has been selected by the editorial team at The Daily Beast, for its monthly "Best of the Beast". The accolade advances the article's calls to action for Town & Country, the 174-year old Hearst publication, to rectify deep-seated and long-standing systemic racism and bias in its business practices.

As a Black American woman, and a former Event Consultant for Town & Country and the Town & Country Philanthropy Summit, White penned the article based on her experience, along with those of former employees. "Over several months I embarked on this journey to impact change, and impact the lives of those coming behind me," says White. The article shines a light on the stark hypocrisy between Town & Country's public "commitment" to racial equity, and what the leadership practices internally.

[Excerpt] "The "advancing conversations" over the last five years of [its] Philanthropy Summit have made no impact in Town & Country's own contribution to ending the racial injustice that requires these conversations in the first place. It gives all others in white media a green light to gloss over difficult conversations and substantive, systemic change with curated images of Black/African American talent, contributors, and influencers across their pages. This is not anti-racism..."

The article has received widespread support from a number of business, community-based, and professional organizations including the New York Metro Chapter of the International Live Events Association (ILEA) which notes, "it's a moving and awakening read that illuminates what needs to be done to achieve racial equality and eliminate systemic racism in the media and events industries."
