CLIFTON, N.J. - Nov. 11, 2020 - PRLog -- Joseph Federico, NJMET Director of Operations, announced that the company's annual scholarship for Engineering, Science and Technology was awarded to Ms. Kelly Cha, a graduate from the Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, NJ. Ms. Cha excels in the studies of science and technology and currently attends Carnegie Mellon University where she is majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Kelly graduated from the Passaic County Technical Institute back in June with an outstanding grade point average of 4.576.

"It was a pleasure to present Kelly with this scholarship. I enjoyed getting to know her and her passion for problem solving which empowers her to pursue her engineering studies. While choosing Carnegie Mellon University, I was impressed to learn that she had been accepted to Georgia Tech, Boston University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Virginia Tech and Stevens Institute of Technology," said Joseph Federico from NJMET's Clifton, NJ headquarters. Ms. Cha was presented with a gift check and a plaque by Mr. Federico for this outstanding accomplishment.  This is the fourth consecutive year (overall fifth) a student from the Passaic County Technical Institute has received this award.

Last year's recipient from Passaic County Technical Institute was Mr. Abelardo Ortega.

"We at NJMET Inc. are pleased to present this scholarship for the 20th consecutive year and to offer an internship to current college students who will learn the intricacies of electronic component testing in the industrial, military and aerospace arenas," added Joseph Federico.

Kelly is currently taking online classes through the fall due to pandemic studying Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering. Next semester she is expected to be at the campus of Carnegie Mellon where she will pursue Electrical and Computer Engineering classes.
