NAPLES, Fla. - Nov. 9, 2020 - PRLog -- Pandemic precautions will not stop the Conservancy of Southwest Florida's popular annual fundraising event, Magic Under the Mangroves. On March 4, 2021, the annual event that has been named one of the top charitable events in Naples will be virtual, and as always, full of surprises.

Katrina Lundmark-Kash has been named chairperson of the 2021 event, "The Magic Hour," and Carol Walter has been named vice-chairperson. A silent auction and silent fund-a-need will be available to all supporters before the live auction and program March 4, 2021.

"Our theme this year, 'The 'Magic Hour' speaks to that picturesque time of day, when the sky gives way to a beautiful glow and we are immediately reminded of the splendor of our Southwest Florida environment. This year is an especially important time to be reflective of the magic all around us," said Katrina Lundmark-Kash.  Katrina served as vice chairperson of the 2020 event that raised $1.6 million net. "We look forward to exceeding our previous success with our Magic Under the Mangroves unique virtual experience on March 4, 2021.  We welcome the community of Southwest Florida to be our partners in making this happen!"

The event will be once again presented by Northern Trust and supported by William Raveis Real Estate.  Community supporters include Waterside Shops, Gulfshore Life, Florida Weekly, Naples Daily News and NBC2.

In 16 years, Magic Under the Mangroves has raised more than $13 million to fund scientific research, education programs, policy development, advocacy and wildlife rehabilitation programs that support the Conservancy's longstanding mission of protecting the water, land, wildlife and future in Southwest Florida.

"Just like the wildlife and environment that is supported with this event, we have adapted to changing conditions," said Rob Moher, president and CEO of the Conservancy. "While fundraising events have been impacted by the pandemic, it has also raised awareness of the importance of our natural environment and outdoor resources for the well-being of everyone, which speaks to our steadfast commitment to protecting the area's environment for 56 years."
