SAN DIEGO - Jan. 5, 2021 - PRLog -- RadioMobile, Inc., a provider of mobile data communications technology to Fire and EMS, announced that Medstar Ambulance of Mendocino County Inc. has adopted RadioMobile's IQ Flex for its Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) solution.  IQ Flex is a hosting and subscription service designed to meet the mobile data communications needs of small and medium sized Fire & EMS agencies.  IQ Flex helps reduce response times by ensuring that dispatchers and managers always know the exact location and status of every resource regardless of network availability.

"We chose RadioMobile for our AVL solution because of their proven flexibility and the ability to integrate with CAL FIRE's CAD system," said Clint Watkins, Director of Communications at Medstar Ambulance. "And, since IQ Flex is a hosted solution, lower upfront costs and faster deployment make it the perfect fit for a small organization like ours."

Founded in 1937 as Ukiah Ambulance, Medstar Ambulance of Mendocino County Inc. is the primary provider of ground advanced life support (ALS) treatment and transport in the cities of Ukiah and Willits, California and surrounding unincorporated areas, including Hopland, Potter Valley and Redwood Valley. With a primary response area of 850 square miles, Medstar serves an approximate population of 57,224. Every call for service starts with a dispatch, and Medstar partners with CAL FIRE's Howard Forest Emergency Command Center (ECC), Mendocino County's secondary public safety answering point for fire and EMS calls, to fill this critical role.

Medstar's end-to-end AVL solution combines a hosted IQ Mobile Server and  vehicle-based position data for seamless real-time mobile location updates. IQ Flex provides state-of-the-art connectivity between the ECC and mobile units via a highly reliable, redundant and resilient communications network.  Dispatchers and managers know the exact location of all resources which simplifies dispatching the best available unit to a call. Future plans call for installing IQ Mobile apps on in-vehicle tablets which has the benefit of two-way communication with the ECC, map navigation, vehicle-to-vehicle messaging, map layers and preplans.

"We are happy to have Medstar join our family of Fire & EMS clients," says Jim Moore, CEO at RadioMobile.  "By utilizing RadioMobile, they are able to leverage the AVL system we built for CAL FIRE, enabling faster response while taking advantage of our cloud-hosted IQMS server-as-a-service which eliminates a need for any customer hardware infrastructure."

Available as a subscription service, IQ Flex provides an easy and affordable way for Fire and EMS agencies on tight budgets to increase situational awareness and improve overall accountability.  IQ Flex is available in a variety of configurations to meet the needs and budget of almost any agency.  For more information, visit https://www.radiomobile.com/hosting-service.
