HUBZone Certification Program to Offer Compliance Flexibilities Following Covid 19 Pandemic

FLORENCE, Ky. - Nov. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- In this challenging time, it's extremely difficult for the small business to keep their heads up and earn profits like before. Many of them are also suffering from existential crisis. To notch up a balance in this phase, the Small Business Administration (SBA) is here to support and offer resources and guidance.

HubZone Certification program is offering the following flexibilities to HubZone businesses, which are already effective to financially bolster their condition

·          SBA has provisionally suspended requirements for annual recertification.

·          All firms, including those that were due to recertify in 2020 under the triennial    recertification schedule, won't suffer disqualification following a failure to recertify

·          Instructions are being provided to do further recertification.

In this case, a firm that submits an offer for a HUBZone Certification contract for a solicitation issued after December 26, 2019, must be prepared to demonstrate its eligibility as of the date of its initial certification, or the most recent one.

The SBA recently proposed new regulations to make it easier for small businesses to utilize the HubZone Certification Program. Changes to the HUBZone program is quite rewarding  to the small businesses to invest in it, as it will also come up with better benefit providing greater impact to the communities, and helping federal agencies to meet their goals by awarding contracts to the certified HUBZone small businesses.

The initiative is great for extending the scope and benefits of the HUBZone Certification Program into distressed rural communities by allowing Governors to petition SBA once a year to designate rural areas, with populations below 50,000 and higher rate of unemployment.
