Introducing Kashima Arts "Calligraphy: An Examination of the Japanese Spirit"

CHUO-KU, Japan - Nov. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Kashima Arts will host "Calligraphy: An Examination of the Japanese Spirit" from the 14th (Sat) to the 29th (Sun) of November 2020 as the 2nd instalment to the Kashima Arts Special Exhibition Series. Approximately 55 works on exhibit & available for purchase. Free admittance.

On the Exhibition:
While calligraphy has been shunned in recent times as "illegible," its charm lies beyond reading and comprehension and in the joy of feeling the artist's presence. This exhibition offers calligraphy by major historians, writers, painters, and calligraphers with introductions that provide guidance and support.

1. A Wide Offering of Works Across Genres by Major Artists

-Edo Period Calligraphy: Master Literati & Classic Aesthetics

2. View artworks in the safety of home
With COVID-19, new measures have been implemented to ensure the wellbeing of all. Honouring the safety & satisfaction of all customers, Kashima Arts offers free in-house digital catalogues of all exhibited works. On the Kashima Arts Special Exhibition Series:
Described as Kashima Arts' anthology of Japanese art, each series instalment focuses on a major Japanese art category, from Modern Painting to Calligraphy and Japanese Old Painting, and is only held this year. The 3rd & final instalment, "Old Japanese Paintings: The Masters who Colored the Edo Period," is scheduled this December.
A retrospective of the great masters Kashima Arts has introduced over the years, this event represents one of the cornerstones of its ever-changing history.
