Into Glory: How one sexual assault victim overcame trauma to help others

DALLAS - Nov. 3, 2020 - PRLog -- Tuesday Marie's only desire in this world is to be loved and fully known by someone. Her best friend barely understands her, and her family definitely doesn't understand her. When Jake, her neighbor, starts paying attention to her, Tuesday believes that it's finally her opportunity to be loved. However, when Jake sexually assaults, stalks and threatens her, Tuesday convinces herself that it never happened. And then Drew shows up in her life. Drew is adamant to give Tuesday the love she desperately craves but is now pushing away. Through healing and the support of her loved ones, Tuesday begins to accept what happened to her and believe that she is worthy of being whole again.

Why am I writing this book? Reports from RAINN state that 1 in 6 women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. About 3% of men have the same experience. There are most likely a higher percentage of those who are affected by this issue who haven't come forward. Survivors often experience guilt, shame, self-blame, depression, self-destructive behavior, eating disorders, and long-term anxiety. Most survivors struggle with creating relationships and having healthy sex lives as an adult.

Into Glory is a fictionalized retelling of my own sexual assault from 13 years ago. This book is written for anyone who loves someone that has gone through sexual assault. Survivors will relate heavily to the main character, Tuesday, and those who haven't personally been affected by sexual assault will have a glimpse into what it's like living in the immediate aftermath of sexual assault.
