Annual Ship Bottom Christmas Parade

-- The Long Beach Island Region plans to ring in the holiday season with a forty one year tradition, the Annual Ship Bottom Christmas Parade. The event will take place on Saturday December 5 stepping off at 1 pm along Long Beach Blvd from 5th to 25th Streets. The Borough of Ship Bottom and their volunteer Christmas Parade Committee has made adjustments to reflect the COVID-19 guidelines of keeping parade participants and spectators safe.
Due to the pandemic, organizers would like to remind you that the parade could be cancelled up to the morning of the December 5. Other adjustments include a new location for the Judging stand at 19th Street. Parade goers are to practice social distance along the route, restrooms will be provided at Borough Hall and Grace Calvary Church. For those who wish to view at home, broadcast of the event will be on SNN Cable Channel 21 or online at snntv21.com to stream live.
Department of Parks & Recreation Councilmen Edward English, Peter Rossi and Robert Butkus along with the Parade Committee announced the theme of the 2020 parade will be "Home for the Holidays' with Ship Bottom post office cancellation stamp for Santa letters. This year's Grand Marshal will be Southern Regional Superintendent Craig Henry. The Sponsors to date include Owen, Little & Associates, Inc, Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and The Sandpaper. Best overall trophy as well as cash prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third Place or best theme for family and individual entry.
