-- The forecast calls for SNOW to hit Georgia's Lanier Islands November 6. A popular destination during the summer extends the fun into the holiday season with the return of License to Chill Snow Island. Showcasing snow tubing – with an eight-story, 575-foot snow slide at center stage, along with ice rink, snow play zone, amusement rides and more, License to Chill Snow Island is proud to introduce a new state-of-the-
art interactive lighting extravaganza set to festive music on November 20 with The Lakeside Lights Spectacular.
"We are excited to kick off the season with one of the only operating snow tubing parks in the southeast and the only one in Georgia," said Bucky Perry, Vice President of Islands Entertainment, a division of Safe Harbor Development. "We'll enhance the fun even further with the addition of The Lakeside Lights Spectacular later in the month. The former holiday lights driving tour at Lanier Islands – Magical Night of Lights – was a beautiful tradition for many years. However, the light show was 28 years old, and a significant investment was needed to bring the light displays up to current standards. With the technology available now, Safe Harbor decided that the better investment would be a new state-of-the-
art interactive light show for current and future generations to enjoy. We have already invested over $30M in the park to enhance the experience and will continue to invest to build the biggest and best outdoor entertainment park in the southeast."
For anyone seeking a terrific destination for outdoor winter fun or a jump-start to the holiday season, in addition to the light show, snow tubing, carnival rides, ice skating, snow play zone and firepits for making s'mores, License to Chill Snow Island will offer several seasonal eateries, as well as private socially distanced visits with Santa. Even after the holidays come to an end, the fun will continue to "snowball" at Snow Island on weekends through February 21. Snow Island remains committed to protecting the health and well-being of its guests and employees through the observation of CDC protocols and extensive cleaning of the facility and equipment throughout the day to ensure a safe outdoor experience.
