Millennials Present Election Issues To Peers

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Oct. 21, 2020 - PRLog -- "Just The Facts", moderated by Emmy Award winning television producer and two-time Emmy nominated reporter Tanya McCrae, is a virtual event in which millennials will educate their peers on current issues being discussed by the 2020 presidential candidates.

During this Zoom event, University of Florida law student, Ashley Favors, Harvard law student, Rachel Favors, and University of Florida law professor, Michelle S. Jacobs, will explain and define issues and terms surrounding the 2020 presidential election. Candidate positions on the issues will not be presented, although all possible perspectives will be provided.  The goal is to provide unbiased facts.  For example, attendees will understand the definition, positives and negatives of fracking, not the positions of the candidates.

 "Just The Facts" was put together by Teresa Whigham and Constance Armstrong, two South Florida residents extremely shaken by the outcome of the first presidential debate.   After that debacle, combined with so much biased, negative, and incorrect  information being seen in the media, there was a concern that young voters experiencing a presidential election for the first time would not have access to the basic information needed to understand the impact of their voting decisions.  They should know what "defunding" means or what the abortion laws include, or where to go for additional information, so they can make an informed choice.

The questions and topics chosen were based on various national surveys including the Pew Research Center's American Trends Panel, as well as feedback from a small group of individuals between 20 and thirty years of age.   The topics and questions will be introduced by a moderator and explained by the panelist assigned the issue.  After the presentation of the issue, if time allows, attendee questions will be taken from the Zoom chat before moving to the next issue.

"Just The Facts" takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2020, 7PM-8PM EST via ZOOM.  The ZOOM room will open at 6:30pm EST with limited spaces.  Attendees are recommended to arrive early to secure a space.
