The EOCP Presents its Operator of the Year Award to Dean Brown at the City of White Rock

BURNABY, British Columbia - Oct. 6, 2020 - PRLog -- The EOCP's Operator of the Year Award recognizes an Environmental Operator who is dedicated to the field of water and wastewater.  They go above and beyond fulfilling the requirements of their work responsibilities – the award recognizes an Operator who makes a significant contribution to their workplace, to the water/wastewater industry, and to their community.

The winner of this year's Operator of the Year Award has more than 20 years of experience as an Operator.  While working as an Operator, he has shown his eagerness to learn and improve his knowledge on water quality, water treatment, and new technologies.

He maintains his certifications, attends training, reads research papers, and works closely with contractors to ensure a sound understanding of plant operation.  In addition, he is adept at training new Operators.  He is also a musician and participates in many community events, and supports climate change initiatives by riding to work on his bike.

He goes above and beyond the call of duty, is available in emergencies, never declines an assignment, and is an asset to the City of White Rock.  The EOCP is pleased to recognize the work of Dean Brown, with the 2020 Operator of the Year Award.

The EOCP (www.eocp.ca) was the first organization in Canada to implement an Operator certification and facility classification program in Canada in an effort to better protect public health and the environment.  Fifty-four years later, the EOCP continues to grow, work with its stakeholders, and evolve, ensuring that the needs of Operators and employers are met.

The EOCP's membership provides safe drinking water and wastewater management to more than 4.2 million people across British Columbia and Yukon.
