CDI's Spooky Comedy 'Smoke & Mirrors'

LANSING, Mich. - Sept. 23, 2020 - PRLog -- A unique opportunity presented itself on a commercial project for Michigan-based Collective Development Inc. who agreed to support director Nathaniel Nose (The Christ Slayer) by producing 'motion picture' footage to be used by the audio-software company Izotope in their nationwide software demos.

The in-development feature script for 'Smoke & Mirrors' penned by DJ Perry (Man's Best Friend, Wild Faith) was pared down into a short film. The story centers on Barrows (David Gries), a turn of the century magician and professional 'spirit' debunker who sets his sights on the activities of a one mysterious Lady Bloom, brought to life by Melissa Anschutz ('Ashes of Eden', upcoming 'Lost Heart').

Rounding out the cast is Abby Murphy Perry, Shane Hagedorn, DJ Perry, Michael Rene Walton and Anthony Hornus. It was filmed at the historical Dodge Turner Mansion in Lansing, Michigan. The plan is to allow the use the short film as a future fundraiser for the historic house and property and enter a few festivals. CDI is looking ahead to develop the project into a full blown feature film to be directed by Nathaniel Nose.

Nathaniel Nose previously directed the third film in CDI's THE QUEST TRILOGY entitled 'The Christ Slayer' (Amazon, Tubi, Encourage TV) and is currently directing CDI's 'Lost Heart Event' that will release with the Lost Heart movie for a free "one night only" event on Encourage TV November 7, 2020.
