WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Sept. 18, 2020 - PRLog -- Matthew Brickman, President of iMediate Inc. and Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator offered some insight to people experiencing the issue of property division in a divorce during quarantine. He began by stating, "I'm not giving anyone legal advice but I'm hearing questions on property division. Is it divided differently during a divorce during COVID-19?"

He explained that although the rules for division of property has not fundamentally changed, homes have not been selling the way they used to. Some properties may be on the market for far longer than expected thus prolonging the divorce process.

Mr. Brickman has gone into detail over the past several months about stay-at-home orders that are affecting the amount of time children spend with parents living at difference residences, "You have a court order until you have a new court order. Time sharing is to continue as ordered until modified."

He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the parents and taking co-parenting classes prior to mediation for the benefit of all involved parties, especially the child.

Matthew Brickman can mediate in-person or virtually online to help people anywhere in the world settle their disputes. He contends that traditional courtroom litigation gives away the power of the parties to leave their matter up to a judge to decide. Through mediation, he empowers people with the knowledge and insight as how a court would view their matter so that they can create the best resolution for both parties to resolve their differences.
