Bosco Tech Names Philip Consuegra Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives
"It's my great pleasure to welcome Mr. Consuegra on behalf of the board of trustees and the entire Tech community," said Guillermo (Memo) Gutierrez, the school's President. "Bringing a wealth of experience in guiding nonprofit organizations, Phil will be a tremendous asset to Bosco Tech. His expertise in strategic communications, board relations, and fund development, particularly in an educational setting, will make him a valuable addition to our school community."
Consuegra is founder and chief strategist of Schola Strategies, a boutique governance, fundraising, strategic messaging and external affairs counsel advising educational and nonprofit organizations. He is completing a Doctorate in Education at the University of Southern California, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Villanova University and a Master of Arts in International Studies at the University of Miami.
"I'm delighted to join the Tech family and eager to work with the school's board, faculty, and staff," said Consuegra. "And I'm proud to continue my relationship with the time-tested international Salesian educational ministry that focuses on the overall development of young people through reason, religion and kindness."
Prior to founding Schola Strategies, Consuegra served as Vice President for Advancement for Bellflower's St. John Bosco High School, brother school of Bosco Tech. He also has served as Executive Director of Philanthropy for Carlsbad's Pacific Ridge School, Associate Director of Development at William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, and Director of Development at Pine Crest Preparatory School in Fort Lauderdale.
An all-male Catholic high school, Bosco Tech uniquely combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with STEM-based studies. The innovative approach allows students to exceed university admissions requirements while completing extensive integrated coursework in one of several applied science and engineering fields. Bosco Tech has a college acceptance rate of 100 percent, with the majority of graduates pursuing STEM-related post-secondary majors. The school is located at 1151 San Gabriel Boulevard, Rosemead, 91770. More information is available at www.boscotech.edu.
