United For Human Rights Aids Human Trafficking Survivors
"We know that right now are difficult times, and with an increase of human trafficking recently, we are determined to do all we can to help organizations taking care of youth," stated Cristian Vargas, the Executive Director of UHR's Florida Chapter.
There were three organizations that received the donations. They take care of youth under 18 who have been taken out of the insidious life of being sold for the pleasure of others.
The locations of the safe-homes, where the youth live and are taken care of, are confidential for their own safety.
Florida is ranked as having the 3rd most human trafficking cases in America i, and Tampa Bay is one of the biggest hot spots in all 50 states.
UHR is also educating youth on their human rights through interactive webinars and activities this past month. They are offering free webinars to schools and organizations, and their online course is available for everyone to create an account free of charge.
