Follow on Google News | National Black Worker Center to Hold Voter Suppression Rally on September 12, 2020The goal for the displays is to provide education to the Black community about overcoming obstacles intended to suppress their vote. In 2020, classic forms of voter suppression like gerrymandering and voter roll purges are now coupled with more overt actions like the slow-down at the U.S. Postal Service in order to make it more difficult for people of color to vote. "We want to educate our community so that they are not fearful to vote" states Tanya Wallace-Gobern, Executive Director of NBWC. "The art installations give voters concrete ways to protect their voting rights."
