B-Present Foundation Partners With Fleece & Thank You for Virtual Blanket Making Event

SAN DIEGO - Aug. 25, 2020 - PRLog -- To mark the first event created as a result of an innovative new nonprofit partnership between San Diego-based b-present Foundation and Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Fleece & Thank You (F&TY), both organizations will host Wrapped in Presence, a virtual blanket making event. Open to the public, the event takes place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (PDT) Monday, Aug. 31, on the b-present facebook page: www.facebook.com/events/580632972818816/. Together, the two organizations are rallying their communities to help create fleece blankets for children and young adults facing extended hospital stays.

"A life-threatening diagnosis turns life upside down," said Abby Westerman, CEO of the     b-present Foundation. "Patients need to feel connected to the world as they undergo treatment, and know that they are not facing the diagnosis alone. One effective way to achieve this is by providing items of comfort, a reminder of home, and a visual reminder of family, friends, or a community rooting for them to finish treatment."

Hosted by Westerman and Nicholas Kristock, co-founder and executive director of F&TY – Michigan's largest provider of comfort care to hospitalized children – Wrapped in Presence is an opportunity to come together as a community, have some fun, learn about how these organizations are helping patients in need and be part of the circle of support.

Blanket kits for participants are available for purchase online at fleeceandthankyou.org/product/b-present-blanket-kit. After finishing the blankets, participants can upload a personalized video message for the recipient through F&TY's proprietary video platform.
