Vertech Group First AUS Organisation to Acquire Lloyd's Register UAV Inspection Qualification
By: Vertech Group
This certification allows Vertech to perform close visual inspections for the purpose of ship classification using remote aerial drones within confined spaces.
Vertech Marine Project Manager, Donovan Rheeders, said that he was proud of the Marine Inspection Team to be the first to achieve this qualification through desktop implementation and a successful campaign on a producing FPSO.
"Vertech prides itself on being a pathfinder in the unmanned inspection industry, and this milestone is yet another example of that," said Mr Rheeders
"With this certification, our team will be able to perform faster, more efficient class inspections while working with our clients towards a safer and cost-effective future."
Performing inspections using UAVs reduces the amount of conventional rope access inspections required and is performed by our Hull Inspection Personnel who are qualified in both methods.
Vertech's unmanned services have a been making great strides in other areas as well, only last month announcing an RDVI partnership with GE Inspection Robotics.
UAV class inspections are now available across all marine industries and sectors.
