NEW YORK - Aug. 24, 2020 - PRLog -- In far-away India a young man who loved American films had ambitions to come to the United States one day and study filmmaking. His school of choice was on a short list, among the finest academic institutions for filmmaking in the USA…New York University. His long ago dream in India became a reality for young filmmaker Pranav Kothary.

"I grew up in Mumbai, India. High school  there was when I began to figure out what I wanted to do with my life," remarked Pranav.  "Just like other typical film majors, I started doing school projects using film and it snowballed from there. New York University was the only school I applied to; I knew it was the only place for me. Going to school there was an extremely valuable experience. My hobby became my craft and I discovered what I was interested in, both in terms of art and craft."

"There are many films I've been inspired by recently; but some that always seem to take top place for me as a filmmaker are:  Leave No Trace, The Florida Project, Call Me By Your Name and The Meyerowitz Stories," asserted Mr. Kothary.

Since his time in America, young Mr. Kothary has created more than a handful of curious, evocative films in his repertoire. Among his favorite is Soon, a short drama, made in 2017. Soon focuses upon a young musician, reminiscing about the home he is about to move from. He stars in this unique short film along with actress Ms. Devlin Stark. He also is the film's writer-director-editor-producer.

Commenting on Soon Pranav said: "Soon is a film about memory, and the role a physical space plays in both its collection and its reminiscence. I wanted to put on display the loss of a piece of life one may experience when losing something as seemingly unimportant as a physical space. I wanted to showcase the beautiful, chaotic dialogue that memory and space sometimes have in moments of life."

Soon can be viewed on the digital platform - at: Soon runtime: 07:10. Cast and credits for Soon are: Cast: Emmanuel Uceta (EM), Devlin Star (Lisa). Pranav Kothary is Director, Producer, Writer.
