Gray Matters Alliance Is Now An Approved Medicaid Waiver Provider in Illinois

By: Gray Matters Alliance
ST. LOUIS - Sept. 17, 2020 - PRLog -- Gray Matters Alliance (GMA) is pleased to announce their recent approval as a Medicaid Waiver Provider for the State of Illinois. The waiver program is designed to provide Assistive Technology, Remote Monitoring and Remote Supports for the Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled population. This waiver program is beneficial in helping to support and encourage those looking to be more independent, live more safely, and allows individuals the ability to become more engaged within their own communities.

The GMA System is a customizable assistive technology device that provides remote supports and remote monitoring to individuals that need assistance in their day to day lives. The device allows people to live a more independent life while simultaneously keeping them safe in their environment. Some examples of the device's features are telehealth, virtual vitals, medication management, educational tutorials, home safety with smart home compatibility, scheduler for ADLs, care plan and notes, and many things to keep someone socially engaged, avoiding isolation and loneliness.

The GMA System is available to demo, in-person at the Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP), by appointment. GMA will also assist IATP if webinars are a better option for those who are unable to see it in person. Please contact: Robin Richard 217-522-7985, iatp@iltech.org www.iltech.org to schedule an appointment.

"While GMA has already had a presence in Illinois, we are very eager to begin providing our neighboring state's agencies with the same services and products that have been offered right next door in Missouri under the waiver program. Our assistive technology has been invaluable for our disabled and aging individuals; giving them tools that enable them to live more independently, help staff and caregivers work more efficiently, and provide many families with peace of mind. Medicaid waivers allow for the introduction to assistive technology to more individuals who otherwise wouldn't have this opportunity to improve their quality of life, achieve milestones and goals, attend school or get a job," says Vicki Spraul, President of Gray Matters Alliance.
