South Shore Conservatory announces that both campuses are opening in the Fall

NORWELL, Mass. - Aug. 20, 2020 - PRLog -- South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces that both of its campuses, at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham, and The Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury, will open this fall, and that enrollment is now open.

Karen Geer, president of the South Shore Conservatory, explains that The Conservatory is offering a "hyflex" model. This means that some teachers are teaching "in person" at the campuses on a rotating schedule while maintaining social distancing and masking protocols.  The SSC Teachers that are participating in a "hybrid" model are:  Maral Annaovezova, piano; Robert Bekkers, guitar,  Nick Biagini, ukulele; Peter Bianca, clarinet,  Gita Brown, clarinet; Erik Caldarone, rock band; Victoria Chang, percussion, Mary Cicconetti, oboe, Mark Goodman, piano; Andrew Heath, trumpet, George Little, guitar;  Alexander Morollo, piano, Kyung-nam Oh, cello, Eamonn O'Hara, piano, Grant Randall, trombone; Theodore Sajdyk, percussion, Ed Sorrentino, percussion; Jesse Stiglich, percussion and rock band; Benjamin Swartz, cello; Sarah Troxler, piano; John Vanderpool, winds; HuiMin Wang, piano; Cynthia Weller, strings, Jeff Williams, piano,  Ida Zelman, piano,  and Donald Zook, flute.

Wind Instruments will be mostly teaching on the Jane Carr Amphitheater stage (weather permitting) and then move to virtual instruction.  Other instruments will be using the large spaces at both the Hingham and Duxbury (Ellison Center for the Arts) campuses.  All voice instruction will remain online. The Conservatory will begin registering students for rock band which will be held on the amphitheater stage then move to some larger spaces and online.  Dance instruction will be held at the Duxbury Campus in the main hall.  One half of the Hingham campus is now being used to conduct preschool to accommodate all preschool, Pre-K and K families.

Additionally, all orchestral instrument students at SSC are offered free virtual orchestra which will be doing online instruction and a beautiful virtual Christmas performance featuring gorgeous music of the season at the holidays.

In addition to offering a 12 percent discount on all private lessons, they are also offering a five percent multi-student family discount, and a ten percent frontline worker discount when students lock in their lesson time for the 2020/2021 school year.  Enrollment for the fall is open now.
