CALLANISH, Scotland - Aug. 20, 2020 - PRLog -- The 10 000 is for the first stage, to remove what is left of the roof and clear the rubble from the inside and making the building safe.

The plan is to restore the building as it was in 1982 as a tearoom, but keeping flexible open space for use as an art gallery/small venue for weddings, talks on various subjects connected to the standing stones, a photography hub, and storytelling. A versatile space, very traditional on the outside but an adaptable inner space to cater to the many varied interests and ideas the enigmatic Standing Stones attract. Once the building is restored jobs will be created. Catering, tourist centered and Arts orientated jobs.  With the central aim of being sustainable, informative and a treat to visit. Always with an eye to the future, a real appreciation of history and the past and the preservation of an important historical building in an extraordinary location.

The Callanish Standing Stones in a normal year bring in over 50 000 visitors from all walks of life from all over the world. This year is different but Emma has lived here over 17 yrs and knows well that every year changes. The aim is to create and innovative, informative business adaptive to unavoidable yearly changes and provide services online.
The project owner Emma Rennie says 'As we finally emerge from lockdown, I see this as a great opportunity to fulfill my long term dream of completing this restoration project and bring this beautiful old Blackhouse 'back from the brink' while helping to enhance the visiting tourist's Callanish experience.'
