New Sources for Supporting Black Owned Business

MIAMI - Aug. 18, 2020 - PRLog -- Since the murder of George Floyd, Americans everywhere are frequenting small Black-owned (https://www.chowhound.com/food-news/266920/black-owned-restaurants-to-support/) businesses in a show of support for the local community. This will help grow these businesses, and create local local jobs.  But changing racism and the racial wealth gap in America needs all kind of action; from supporting black owned businesses, to directly protesting in the streets, contacting local representatives, voting, and keeping our dollars in the black community to name a few.

EatBlackOwned.com started as a source to help keep these dollars in the black community.  The website lets users find 1000's of Black Owned restaurants in the United States, Canada, and London.  Users can easily search for eateries using their current location.  Or users can type in their address or city to get a listing of restaurants in that area.  We spoke with the owner of Eat Black Owned, Edward Dillard.  "It just started as a restaurant directory.  There's too many websites and lists that only focus on their town, or the big towns.  I wanted an easy way for people to be able to find black owned eateries everywhere".

"Once I saw how much interest there was in supporting these restaurants listed on our site, I thought it would be good to expand, and offer more than just restaurants", Dillard says. "That's when I had the idea for the Eat Black Owned Marketplace".

At the beginning of August, 2020, Eatblackowned.com launched the Eat Black Owned Marketplace.  This marketplace lists culinary products from black owned food brands, and black owned companies.  Here you can find all the products you will need in your kitchen, or for your backyard grilling experience.  Dillard continues, "We have seasoning & sauces, silverware, vegan products, cookbooks, olive oils.  Imagine Amazon for black owned culinary products!"

Continuing to expand & grow, Eat Black Owned officially launched their iPhone & Android App this month.   "This will offer more exposure for these B.O.B's.  We want to make it as easy as possible to find them", says Dillard.  The App is available on the App Store, and Google Play.
