The Jacksonville Children's Chorus Is Social Distan-singing For The Upcoming 2020-21 Season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Aug. 18, 2020 - PRLog -- The Jacksonville Children's Chorus (JCC) is ready to start the upcoming 2020-21 season with plans to keep health and safety a top priority for its singers. JCC is now offering auditions virtually or in-person with social distancing and a mask required.

Due to rising concerns regarding plans for the Covid-19 pandemic, JCC is planning to emphasize the importance of the singers' health and well-being along with their families and the supporting staff members during all rehearsals as well as performances. During the summer, online tools have been utilized to offer virtual workshops, video rehearsals and virtual choir performances. "I was so happy that my daughter could have something to look forward to when her school went virtual," says Ms. Lorrie, a JCC parent. "JCC had practices using Zoom and she was able to see and interact with her conductor and friends. Her school didn't do that."

For socially distant rehearsals, JCC is offering two locations to limit the number in attendance allowing for enough space between each singer. Special singer masks will also be available for purchase providing comfort and ease as well as protection during rehearsals and performances.

JCC parents Ms. Pamela and Mr. Victor say, "Participation in JCC during the pandemic has offered my child a piece of normalcy that was and continues to be needed." As the season begins, JCC has exciting plans for more virtual performances and will be continuing to host The Cool Side of Yuletide annual Holiday concert.
