CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Aug. 14, 2020 - PRLog -- Maintaining regular communication with members is vital for homeowners associations (HOAs). Members need to be kept up-to-date on what is happening within the community, such as upcoming meetings or projects, changes to rules or regulations, and general tips. Kuester Management Group has released a statement to the press regarding how associations can make community newsletters more appealing to members.

"Sending out a monthly or quarterly newsletter can be a great way to stay in touch and quickly convey a wide range of information," says Bryan Kuester, President of Kuester Management Group. "Unfortunately, not all members take the time to read these communications, because they can be long or get lost in the shuffle."

Making a digital copy of the newsletter available can help, says Kuester. Not only does it cut down on printing and mailing costs, it can be archived on the HOA website and easily accessed by members via computer or any mobile device. They can read it wherever they may be. Just make sure that the HOA has updated email addresses if sending the newsletter electronically.

Focus on information that is important to members. Highlight key points to keep articles short and to the point. The board can always include a link or directions for where to find more details. Also, don't just focus on the negatives or things that need to change. Highlight the good things that are happening in the community too, such as work by volunteers, projects that have been completed, or upgrades that are underway.

"Adding pictures can help to break up text and attract attention as well," says Kuester. "Perhaps spotlight a board member, committee member, or vendor each month and introduce them to the community. Show how they are making a difference and put a face with a name. The association can also add pictures from events, contests, or projects to keep things fresh and interesting."

If the newsletter is looking a little outdated or plain, talk to members and see if anyone has design experience and would be willing to put together the newsletter for the board. They can spruce things up with new formatting and features that create more appeal, plus it gives members a way to get involved and contribute their skills.

Kuester excels at assisting HOAs in improving communication and keeping homeowners involved and informed.
