Watch Time: 1:30 | Firelands Local Schools Director of Educational Services Lori Roemer discusses how the ELA Online: Transitions program helped the district's entire 5th grade class feel more prepared to return to school as 6th graders in a new environment.

"Every family had a different experience adjusting to virtual learning this past spring semester. ELA wants to continue to support families throughout this time. This program is being offered to help ease their minds knowing that their children have had a chance to strengthen their social-emotional skill set before going back to the classroom, whether that be virtually or in-person," said Flo Brett, ELA Founder and Executive Director.

This four session program is available for 5th/6th graders, 7th/8th graders, and 9th – 12th graders. Students will add various concepts to their "toolkit for embrace change" including first impressions, situational leadership, the ABC's of Communication, and goal-setting the SMART way.

ELA has been able to impact more than 25,000 students with their award-winning curriculum designed to help develop emotional intelligence in a fun and engaging way. Due to COVID-19, the organization quickly pivoted their curriculum to continue to support the social-emotional needs of young people across the country.
