LANSING, Mich. - Aug. 6, 2020 - PRLog -- There's an axiom that states that 'good work begets work.'

That's been the business/creative model for more than 20 years at award-winning, Lansing-based film production company, Collective Development Incorporated (CDI).

Whether it's in contracting crew, hiring vendors or attaching talent, CDI's CEO DJ Perry and his production team - composed of writers, actors, directors, graphic artists and more – strictly adhere to that mantra.

And for two friends from the metro Detroit area, whose formal education at university came before they met at the Michigan Makeup Academy and their professional career paths took a 180-degree turn, great work on CDI's soon-to-be-released 'Lost Heart' has earned them another 'gig' with the company.

Dayna Green of Clarkston and Meghan Martin of Lake Orion both earned Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology from Detroit's Wayne State University. Ms. Green then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.

However, when the young women met, then graduated in 2016 from the Michigan Makeup Academy, both with specialty training in Beauty, Bridal, Film/Commercial, SFX and Face/Body Painting, Gals & Ghouls was launched.

Last July the 'Gals' were hired to oversee make-up for 'Lost Heart,' which stars Melissa Anschutz, Don Most and Victoria Jackson. That exceptional work, combined with a can- do, team-player attitude, has earned the ladies a repeat opportunity on CDI's next production, 'Best Years Gone,' tentatively scheduled to film at years end in West Michigan.

"
For Ms. Green, who like her partner is an award-winning make-up artist, the experience on a larger set, where the demands of flip-flopping from day-to-night shoots and vice-versa can be a challenge both physically and emotionally, was exceptional.

"Lost Heart has been one of my favorite productions to work on thus far," she said. "Everything from an incredibly talented and industrious cast and crew, to the beautiful filming locations has made it one for the books! I instantly felt part of something big and CDI really does make you feel like family."

Having worked on several indie shorts and features, as well as working TV commercials and other projects, Ms. Martin is also a talented SFX artist and holds multiple certificates from celebrity artist workshops and make-up classes.

"It was a privilege to work alongside such hard-working, talented and all-around great people," Ms. Martin enthused. "Truly some of the most professional cast and crew I've been fortunate enough to work with. I'm excited for 'Best Years Gone' and look forward to continued building of relationships."
