DURANGO, Colo. - Aug. 3, 2020 - PRLog -- The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (D&SNGRR)™, which offers distinctive year-round rail experiences and special events to passengers of all ages in the remote, scenic wilderness and high-mountain landscape of Colorado's San Juan National Forest, today announced it is once again in the running for USA TODAY's annual 10best Readers' Choice Award for "Best Scenic Train Ride in America," and is asking its guests to vote every day for the historic, 139-year-old railroad based in Southwestern Colorado.

One of 20 well-known heritage railroads in this year's field of candidates, the D&SNGRR is seeking its first-ever victory in the reader-determined competition after having finished as the runner-up in previous years. Railfans can cast their vote for the D&SNGRR once per day by visiting http://bit.ly/3ePKilA, and then clicking on the large blue VOTE BUTTON just below the photo. In addition, while on 10best.com, users can easily share the D&SNGRR selection link with their friends, colleagues, and family members via a plethora of social media platforms, including Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.

Voting for USA TODAY'S 10best Readers' Choice Award for "Best Scenic Train Ride in America" ends on Monday, August 17 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. USA TODAY will announce the winner and final rankings on Friday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

"While the D&SNGRR has won multiple, highly-prestigious awards over the years, this is one honor that has simply eluded us and slipped through our fingers time and time again," said Jeff Johnson, general manager of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. "It's not that much fun to always be the bridesmaid, never the bride. That's not happening this year! This explains why we're heavily promoting this year's competition among our fans through multiple marketing channels, and imploring them, and their friends, colleagues, and family members, to vote for us. We hope these efforts will enable us to finally taste victory, and bring home the hardware to our ever-expanding trophy case!"
