Lincoln FC DFW Mens Senior Club

COLLEYVILLE, Texas - July 24, 2020 - PRLog -- Metroplex Premier League welcomes expansion club Lincoln FC DFW for the 2021 Spring Season. Based in Colleyville (Tex.) Lincoln FC DFW will begin play in MPL Division 1. MPL media caught up with Owner Anthony Bardon and asked him couple questions on what made him interested in the league.

How did Lincoln FC form and what is the ultimate goal for the Academy?
Lincoln FC formed because our owner was a former player for the professional team(Lincoln Red Imps) in Gibraltar(Europe), and wanted to provide a platform for young players to be guided in their futures. The academy was built to create a pathway for players to pursue university, semi-professional, or professional level soccer.

What got you interested in Metroplex Premier League (MPL)?
Our General Manager, Michael, came across the MPL via Facebook and spoke to me about it. We started to plan how we would go about it and decided that it would be something which would give every youth player in our academy a direct route into higher level senior soccer.

What do you want as an organization to bring to soccer in general to Dallas / Fort Worth Community?
We want to bring a European academy into DFW. We have thought long and hard about how we are going to go about building the academy and we are really now starting to get our hands into something we believe will be special. We believe by creating a senior team in which our academy will have a direct pathway into higher level soccer will encourage some other predominantly youth clubs to do the same thing.

Anthony was a professional soccer player for 6 years and was a National Team Player for Gibraltar. He played for Lincoln's professional team in Gibraltar in the UEFA Champions League along with playing for Gibraltar in UEFA and FIFA international tournaments. Anthony has a great passion to see young players progress to the next level, whether that may be university, semi-professionally, or professionally. He is currently on the USSF "B" coaching license and holds a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management & Business (www.lincolfcdfw.com).

Metroplex Premier League
The MPL was formed in 2019 and currently has 18 clubs in the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex area.  Each MPL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining MPL minimum standards
